Supermarket Stress

I must say I find supermarket shopping quite stressful nowadays.

I was at Market Place, and only wanted to buy less-unhealthy snacks.

Read: Trans-fat-free, preservative-free, artificial flavouring/colouring-free, yeast-free, soy-free, lactose-free, MSG-free.

Result: I spent 1 hour searching and this is all I bought:

1. Kettle's Brand Organic Corn Chips (Sesame-Blue Corn)
2. Mountain Bread flat bread (more worth it than destroying my wok trying to make torteeyahs.
3. St Dalfour Jam (ok, just found out that NTUC sells the same thing at $1 per jar less than Shop N Save and Market Place!!)

Hi CantonPixie,

*Sigh* I have the same problem... the only snack I buy now is Kettle's plain chips.

How about making homemade popcorn ^_^? You can buy organic corn if you like. The fresher and better quality ones will have less 'dead' kernels that fail to pop.

And my favourite brand of jam is Meridian organic fruit spread http://www.meridianfoods.co.uk because it seems to have significantly lower quantities of sugar than many other brands (27%-35% depending on the fruit, if I remember correctly). I couldn't find this jam in SG for a long time but Eat Organic has recently started stocking it.

P.S. You can also just make fruit puree (like what you feed your baby) and use that instead of commercial jam perhaps?
